Young Adult Community Bible Study & Outreach

Our Focus:

Our Thursday night group's mantra is "Learning to rightly divide the Word of Truth" (2 Timothy 2:15). We seek to learn God's heart through His Word- and learning how the Holy Spirit is our guide into all truth (John 16:13).  God's Word and the Holy Spirit are not in competition but are the same–– God's heart. We use different translations (Mainly ESV, NLT, and CSB) to learn how to really dig in to gain a well rounded understanding including the cultural reference time period that it was written. We know that God's love for us is outlined in every verse from Genesis to Revelation.

Who Attends:

We have young people from several churches who gather and invite friends (both saved & unsaved) to join us knowing that they are inviting them to a safe place to learn. We have young people from all backgrounds and denominations who have a hunger to learn more about what God's word said and to apply it to live a CALLED life. Some our young people are on church staffs while are others have not yet committed their lives to Christ but are seeking answers.

What Does The Night Look Like:

It starts at 7pm with some type of food or snack and just general hang out time. Everyone is really friendly and those who attend the first time are made to feel like family.

We are currently studying the books of Acts and previously completed the books of Colossians and Galatians. We have bible study with Renae normally teaching, prayer time and worship when possible. Normally the entire night lasts from7-10pm, though anyone is welcome to leave anytime they need to.

What Is The Outreach Component?

This is an optional part of our group activities as well, but our group will serve together at our bi-monthly Take the City events as well as our #CalledTogether worship & prayer nights that are hosted at various churches in the city. Our group also leads gatherings of united city college worship leaders and engage opportunities to share the Gospel of Jesus with our neighbors.

Missions Component

We also offer our group opportunities to attend mission trips with A Called Generation, join one of mentor or leadership groups, and anything else Renae is involved in.
